How to Grade an Assignment in Portfolio
Go to the portfolio assignment created within your Blackboard course and select it.
You will be taken to the Portfolio dashboard. Select Pending Assessments from the top set of tabs.
Select the student you want to grade and then choose Assess from the menu.
Note: If you already started grading the student but never finished. The word "Assess" will be replaced with Complete.
You can provide inline grading on the students submitted document, by clicking the View button next to their attached submission.
The pencil icon will allow you to draw on the document and the comment button will allow you to leave comments within the document.
Clicking on See All Criteria in the upper right corner OR clicking the Expansion button in the black box will make it easier to grade.Â
Select the black box below the numerical value of the criteria you want to grade. The box will turn green indicating your grade was saved.
Notice how each criteria also has a Comment box next to it. You can optionally type in your comments per each criteria.
You can optionally write generalized feedback for the entire assignment within the box called Overall Comments.
Clicking See Single Criterion will take you back to the original portfolio page where you can view the students file(s) and Inline grade.
Once you are done grading, click the Save button in the upper right corner, which should now have turned green.
IMPORTANT: You then have to click the blue Save button one more time, in order to transfer the grade into your Blackboard course.
