Educational Technology - Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
Overview
You can set up your course content with release conditions which would let you define when student(s) can view and access that particular course content. This was formally known as Adaptive Release in Blackboard original courses.
Instructions
Under the content item (e.g. document, folder, assessment, etc.), click to expand the visibility menu and select Release conditions.
Part 1: Releasing content by specific course members (e.g. student(s))
Choose which course members or groups should have access to the course content. Select either All members or Specific members or groups.
All members: Means all students can see the item.
Specific members or groups: Means only certain students can see the item. Use the drop down under Individual members to add the student(s). Or use the dropdown under Groups to select a group.
Note: You can stop here if you do not need to set up the date and time when student(s) can access the content. Otherwise, continue with the instructions below to set up the visibility period.
Part 2: Release content by date
Place a check mark under Date/Time to define the time period in which students can access the content item.
Place a check mark under Access from and Access until, then enter the Date and Time. (You can leave Access until blank if you do not want to specify the visibility end date)
Click Save.
Optional setting: Select Show or Hide option to choose whether you want content to be visible to course members before or after they meet the criteria(s) you set up.
Show: Students can view the date and time the content will be released.
Hide: Students cannot see the content until the dates and times you’ve set to access the content.
Note: You can set up multiple ‘rules’ within the Release Conditions area.
