How to Integrate Zoom into Blackboard Course (Ultra)

Overview

Zoom unifies cloud video conferencing, simple online meetings, and group messaging into one easy-to-use platform. It offers video, audio, and wireless screen-sharing experience across multiple platforms. 

Zoom LTI creates a bridge between Zoom and Blackboard which enables faculty and students to start and join Zoom meetings directly from a Blackboard course.

• Once you have added the Zoom LTI Pro tool:

• You will be able to create a Zoom schedule directly from this area by clicking the Schedule a New Meeting button.

• Your students will be able to join the Zoom meeting from this area

• When adding the Zoom tool into the course, you will see a page similar as the screenshot below:

Your Zoom meeting must be directly scheduled via this tool in order for your students to join the Zoom meeting from your course.  If you had created the meeting through mssm.zoom.us, your student will not be able to see the meeting unless you posted the Meeting ID specifically into the course.

When you access the Zoom LTI tool from your course:

• Click the Show my course meetings only checkbox to only show meetings that you have scheduled in this course.

• Click All My Zoom Meetings/Recordings to see all Zoom meetings including meetings scheduled outside of this course.  

• Normally, your students will only see the meeting that you have scheduled from the tool.

The Zoom LTI tool allows faculty the following functionality within a Blackboard course:

  • Start or join meetings

  • View upcoming meetings

  • View and manage previous meetings and recordings
