How to Make Your Course "Available" (Ultra)

Overview

In order for students to be able to enter and access your course, you must make your course available.

By default, when new courses are deployed for each new semester, the courses are set as Closed (Unavailable). When the course is ready to be released to the students, the Instructor, the Course Supporter or whomever is in charge is responsible for making the course available.

Instructions

The setting to make your course available or unavailable can be found under the Course Settings area.

Option 1

From the main Blackboard landing page, on the left navigation menu, select Courses.
Locate your course, click the three dots, then select Course Settings.

Option 2

Go into your course.
Select Course Settings at the top right corner of your course.

Then, once you are in the Course Settings area, under Course Status:

a. Select Open to make the course available for your students.

b. Select Closed to make the course unavailable for your students.
